I have a Mercury 150hp V6 motor. When I take it out and you open the throttle up the boat will start to plain at about 2000 rpm's sometimes it will spit and spuuter and slowly plain off, once it is on plain it will take on off. Other times it will just spit and sputter at about 2000 rpm's and will not plain off. When it does this it sounds like the motor is bogging down really bad. When I shift back to idle sometimes motor will just die. It seems to be idling rough. I have just replaced stator (CDI stator). I have pumped all the gas out of the tank and refueled with new gas, replaced fuel water seperator (old one was full of water),replaced all fuel lines going to motor and the fuel bulb. I am stumped, I dont know what else to do. Could it be fuel pump, rectifier, or carburators. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

How old is the motor? Check your compression just to be safe.

I have a Checkmate Starflite with a 200HP outboard Mecrury (that I am rebuilding...)
I have trouble planing when I have more than a total of 2 people in my boat. In fact I couldn't get the boat to plane when I tried it out with 4 or 5 people. With to it struggles for a few seconds and then launches forward.

I think you are having mtr problems while I may need to lower my engine on the mounting plate, and/or look at my prop.
greg
