In cars, you can buy after market parts to increase horsepower. Besides swapping props, is there anything else for boat motors that can increase RPM's?

Props are what is used to control max rpm on a boat. The manufacturers give a spec for max rpm that the engine should see. You adjust that rpm with the prop. If you increase your performance, you will need to replace the prop to get it back into the proper range.

Basically everything you do to a car can be done with a boat, but you need to do your homework first on making sure all the parts work good with eachtother and are up to the task in a marine enviroment.
