Hello, I can't seem to be able to find this so I ask here. Can someone tell me the bore and stroke of these 2 engines please. 1968 Evinrude 18 hp. 18802A and 1974 Johnson 25 hp. 25R74M. Thank You for any help. johnboy
The 25hp is the same bore and stroke. OK, I know where you are going with this....NO, they are NOT the same. If you think you are going to get 25hp out of that 18 by changing the carburetor, you are in for a rude awakening.
I'm curious how they get the extra hp if the motors are essentially the same size. I've seen this for other models as well, which have lots of interchangeable parts, but have different hp ratings. Just curious.
