just thought i'd share this story.

i guess as time goes by, we get more sentimental. last weekend i got together with my parents and enclosed a garage for my sis. we got to work hard, make something with wood, eat homecooked country food for breakfast lunch & dinner, and BS while having a few brews together. got to take the daughter over to the farms the next day, hand pick veggies, fruits & greens, pass through pasture gates, dodge cowpies, watch uncles bale(roll) hay, and see farm animals. included, were many birds i've never seen, in the wild, that my 4yr old got to touch - pheasants & chukar. also quail but i've hunted/eaten them before.

best of all was seeing my 4yr old daughter watch her 91yr old great-grandmother draw water for drinking from the well on her screened-in back porch. and we both had a good ladle full :)

i hope she remembers it all

Thats great ebb.
Even at my age I throughly enjoy being invited out
to a ranch or farm to move cattle and enjoy the
peacefull time and hospitality that always goes
along with it.

Times like that are what it is all about. That lesson will not be lost on your daughter. :)

You should do it again, and again,...
ggma won't be around forever, and neither will the opportunities to share these things.

How about every 4 or 6 months?
