Any opinions??

A certain retailer has some great pricing on these right now. (A 320 pixel wide screen for $90 for example or 480 for $120)

Should I bite?

[colour=blue]I have a bottom of the range FF (garmin 120). It is adequate as a FF but I use it mainly for depth readings.

It shows echoes, but I still can't catch 'um:'(

My fishing buddy has a Bottom Line 320 and loves it. Has the transducer ounted on the trolling motor. How durable the unit is will only be determined over time but if it lasts a couple years I'd say its worth it. Nice size display for an inexpensive unit.

Keith, I have the low end ($99) Hummingbird. It has been working well for many years, certainly working better than the rest of the boat, motor, outdrive....

As Dunarama says, I can see 'em, but not always catch 'em. Actually, when you troll, you almost never see the one that bites.

I installed the transducer in my bilge. As long as it is wet, it works perfectly, and no barnacles or maintenance. The first time I launch the boat, I need to toss a cup of water onto it to make it wet. The bilgewater takes care of it after that.
