I just had my bottom painted and the guy got some of the paint on my depth finder transducer. How do I remove it without damaging the transducer itself? Its not much, just a little brush but I dont want it to interfere with its function. Any ideas? Thanks, Pat.

Re: Bottom paint on transducer.

Right off the bat, I wouldn’t do anything to remove it until I knew there was a problem.

I would contact the guy that did the painting and inquire into the type and brand name of the bottom paint, letting him know I am concerned because there is paint on my transducer now.

If I had to remove a small amount of paint I would be inclined to do it very slowly with a blade…no solvents!

Also, read my comment in this thread from last week about bottom paint on transducers. It probably isn’t a big deal, if it’s water-based paint.

http://www.iboats.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=27;t=000870
