Looking to see how many gallons of bottom antifouling paint I would need for a 25 foot Monterey. The boat is docked upstream in a river, but mainly used in the ocean. I was looking at different types, some are meant for low-fouling areas, mid-fouling areas, and high-fouling areas...

So my main question, how many, on average, gallons of bottom paint, and would the amount of bottom paint matter whether its low-mid-high fouling area?

Re: Bottom Paint

You need to choose bottom paint that is appropriate for the mooring place, since that is where the boat will spend most of it's time. In a river you may not need any bottom paint. Ask at the marina.

You will need to buy two gallons of AF paint. I recommend 2 coats of ablative bottom paint, applied over a primer.

For a 25 ft. boat,1 gallon should give you enough for 1-2 coats.Best time to paint is in the early am before the sun is strong.aF paint dries much faster in the sun and heat.Charlie
