Have a 96 Bayliner Capri 1954 with a Merc 3.0l I/O

Current RPM is around 4500 WOT

Current prop is 13.75 x 21

Top speed is around 40mph with one person (gps)

Just went with a 14 x 19 3 blade Alum.

Gotta pull better - gotta get on plane faster.

What will a larger diameter prop do for me? Did I negate the pitch by switching to a larger dia prop?

Was your old prop an AL 3 blade too? If so you may expect a couple hundred more WOT RPM's.
What is the WOT range spec for you boat?

The diamater change would do nothing.

RPM rating is 4,800 It should help the hole shot rpm gain 300 to 400.Probably stay on plane a little easier but you may have to watch the rpm's. at wot.

Yea....rated at 4800 RPM WOT The original prop was also an AL 3 Blade.

I am hoping that my hole shot improves! I was also advised to go with a 15 x 17.....but just wanna take small steps...if this doesn't help, I might give that one a whirl. (no pun intended :) )

You might want to look at a 4 blade prop or even a High 5 depending on your budget. 3 blade props are good for top end and cruising but very poor for watersports I've found.
