bought a parts engine... hmmm

well, i bought a parts engine, gotta grab em when you see em.

Its a 1989 125hp. I thought id see if I could get it to run the guy says it started running badly and just replaced it.

no fire on cyl 3, not too bad may be something simple. BUT... no compression and i mean none in 3 and 4 cylinders. 90 psi in 1 and 2.

So before I scrap it, is there anything simple/stupid i should check? I tried seafoam in the cylinders for 3 days to soak, no change.

Suggestions?

So, i moved to my "good running" 125 hp, and figured id do a bit of a check over. seemed to run not so smoothly unless full throttle. pulled the plugs out to inspect, and 3 and 4 are black, 1 and 2 are normal. just seafoamed that engine , one tank of gas through it. interesting? coincidental or just me?

#1 post, stop wasting $ on SF
Does absolutely nothing for removing carbon.
Remove the head and check the gasket.
Could be a 35$ gasket or a 1000$ rebuild ??
