Bouncy Tach when trimming '92 Alpha

Tried the search but want to double check this.

Whenever I use the trim buttons my tach seems to bounce and as soon as I let my fingers off the trim button the tach goes back to normal.
I am going to check for tightness of the connections on the coil and behind the dash.
Any other suggestions?
