The bow hook on an old Thundercraft runabout came loose for me. I got a new one and bolted it in place, adding a reinforcing block mated to the inside of the hull.
when my boat is on the trailer i loosen the winch starp to relieve the stress on the bow eye. just don't forget to tighten it when u go to move the boat/trailer!
