Re: bow lift

Sorry Miloman, but the foam won't lift the bow or make the boat float any higher... Actualy it would just compound the problem making the bow heavier... :(

Snapperbait is correct. While adding some foam flotation to bow area may make boat less likely to sink when swamped, nothing added to the interior of the boat hull will allow it to ride higher short of helium.
I've got a friend milo who fishes out of a small 14 ft. aluminum and had a similar issue. He straps an infalted dive marker on port and starboard bow of his rig when at moor to stabilize boat.

When running the boat how does it ride in the water? how much trim needed to get the bow up to the proper point. My thought behide this is maybe you could mount some of the equipment in the boat farther back to add some counter balance. When running the boat you would need less trim to get the bow back to the proper ride height but this might help you out?

That's right ob! The only way you can increase the buoyancy of the bow is to increase the amount of water in displaces.

Ok, just an idea, but how about if you slide that xmas present over and hang your old motor next to it? This should make the bow rise a little, and think of the hole shot you'd get. Zoom zoom zoom. Maybe the new sponsor deal will come thru with a bigger boat. Good Luck.

Tourny fishing for a living and a wife that buys you new motors. You got it made. Happy New Year!

Re: bow lift

One other thought, the new Honda should weight more then your old OB so the added Lbs from the motor should help out with the bow problem.
