I have a 1992 Bass Cat pantera 2 with a 200 Yamaha. Right now I am running a 26p 14 1/2 3 blade with a large hub it runs at 5800rpms. It runs ok but I need more bow lift cuz half of the boat is in the water. I have raised the motor till I lost water pressure still no help. If I run a large ear chopper will that help and if so should I stay with the same pitch or go up or down in pitch. Any help would be great.

Thx

Re: Bow Lift

Hey there, that's a pretty tough question as you are right at the end of line as far as pitch goes and you are right near the top of your RPM band as well.

I asked a similar question about which props will give the best bow lift awhile back and got no responses. My thought is that you need to find a big eared, heavily cupped prop to get the bow lift you need.

Best bet would be to fill out one of hwsiii's forms found in these prop threads and see if he can help you.

In the meantime, check out walleyheds prop test results in the "stickies" at the top of the prop topics. He ran some thorough tests of the high end props under high horsepower conditions.

There are others on here that may be able to help you as this is a high performance setup. Hopefully someone comes along soon.

Cheers

Re: Bow Lift

If you go to the Iboats home page and select the props section and scroll down you will see a section in small print about props and a section on the rake of a prop that may be of interest as it says the rake can affect the lift of the bow or not. hope this helps.
