I own a 1976 Starcraft American 15. It is a closed bow and I would like to mount a trolling motor up on the bow. The fiberglass seems solid and I can stand/sit on it no problem currently. My question is should I reinforce the bow to mount something like this and if so how should I go about doing so? Any help and input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

hi.

Shouldn't need to reinforce anything. Your glass up front is probably a lot thicker thank your picturing. Install to factory spec, if you don't trust that you could sandwich a piece of ply underneath the bow.

No need to reinforce anything but you may need to add more holes on the bow mount plate depending on your mount. I installed a bow mount 50" shaft foot controlled TM (12 bolted screws) before and recently just replaced it with a hand control (4 screws but I added 4 more to fasten it for good). The last thing you want is your whole rig drop into the bottom of the water because a lousy bow mount.
