I bought a 16' AL bass boat, and it is rigged with a Bow mounted trim switch. This is my first boat more complex then a tiller runabout.

What are the most significant uses of a trim switch being mounted on the bow? Trailer loading & unloading? Other situations?

Thanks, Tneker

Re: Bow mounted trim switch

That is the biggest reason for it being there.
I can't think of no other reason but I am sure you will get several suggestions on this.

tneker,

Generally, the idea is the ability to lift your main engine, in case of an obstruction, while you are using the electric trolling motor from the front seat.

It's best to leave the main engine down, when possible, while using the trolling motor. The main engine acts like a rudder and helps keep the boat straight, particularly in wind.
