Bow of boat to high

I have a Mercury 1150.It's mounted on a 76 trihull.Out of the hole I noticed the bow is way to high.Ithought with more throttle it would even out,but it never did.How do you adjust the trim on this model engine.The engine is a 73 model 115 h.p.I have no power trim.

Welcome to the playground, Rebecca!<br /><br />On your motor bracket, low on the outside, you have a series of holes with a tilt pin. The motor running angle in relation to the transom is set by moving the tilt pin from one hole to another.<br /><br />The tilt pin is also used by the trim/tilt lock that prevents your motor from tilting uncontrolled when reversing (as the prop thrust would drag the motor up/out). The lock is supposed to unlock in forward only so you need to leave the lever in forward to tilt the (stopped) motor to get access to the tilt pin.<br /><br />See http://www.spidybot.com/prop/prop_049.htm for further.

As stated earlier, drop the pin down to lowest possible setting and see if that helps.

may just be a case of "too much weight in the back" syndrome.. anything is possible. move some stuff up to the front some, maybe a cooler or a spare batt.. trim tabs would help... smart tabs are even cheaper...... send a post to member"nautical john" he is the companys pres and can do wonders....
