I'm in the process of redoing my upholstery in my 1995 sea ray 175 sterndrive. My question, what is the best thing to use for the backing? It had what appears to be white plexiglass sort of plastic. Will thin starboard work if heated and bent? I was told no by a starboard dealer. My thoughts is its polymer so heat and cool in shape would work, anyone ever used this or have any input?

:welcome: to iBoats

got some pics to share? Starboard (HDPE) is what is generally used. Needs to be thick enough to support the fatties.

What was there before? Probably plywood . . . right ?

I don't have any pics right now but can upload shortly. Ive not removed the vinyl yet but it looks like a clearish white plexiglass almost and they are all split right where the t-nuts go through them.
