Just what are the effects of brackish water on an engine? Have a boat that started out in freshwater. Then was used in brackish bay water (7yrs.). Now it's back in freshwater. Thanks, Gary

Same as salt for the most part.

If the engine is fresh water cooled, no problems there. The manifolds and risers are probably due for replacement.

Like kaGee said, if the manifolds and risers have not been replaced in the last 4 years, save your engine, replace the manifolds and risers.
