1000000211.JPG1000000204.JPG1000000210.JPG1000000206.JPG1000000208.JPG...just bought a Motorguide 70lbs foot controlled cable steer. Excited to see how awesome it pushed my 1978 Chrysler BassRunner around!

I thought I would ;post a few pics of my CURRENT setup. My question is simple:
My current setup is a 12/24 option. So, the foot control has both an on/off switch and a 12/24 switch.
There's an outlet on the bow that the motor plugs into (4 hole). there are currently three wires wired into the silver plug. I assume this is due to having a toggle for on/off as well as 12/24 volt on the current motor.

The new Motorguide only has two wires, red and black, and no male socket to plug into my bow. Can I splice them into my current silver connector and make this happen (look at pics for connector) or do I need to buy a new connector? If so, where to get it?

Thanks guys! Y'all rock!

Your existing plug mates with the existing socket so use it. You only have two wires on the new motor because it is 24 volts only. No 12 volt option. You disassemble the plug and pull the old wires out. You then check the RECEPTACLE to locate the ground and 24 volt terminals. Connect the red and black wires to the matching terminals in the PLUG. Go fishing.

I love working on big projects, but I must admit, I also love the occasional "simple" ones. Thanks again, Silvertip!
