Hi all,
I have anew to me 1990 Maxum 2755 equipped with a 7.4l Mercruiser and a bravo 2 sterndrive. I bought the bravo 2 anode kit from martyr and only the zinc above the prop fits. There are no threaded holes in the trim rams or provisions on the front af the cavitation plate for the horshoe shaped anode. I do see the remains of two threaded anodes on the gamble housing as well as one under the trim ram hoses much like my old alpha one. I can’t find any other kit for the bravo 2. Any help on what to buy would be greatly appreciated. The drive serial number is OD312989

You have the early version of the Bravo, I'm guessing serial number rage between 0B664190 THRU 0F729999

With no threaded holes you either have a very early version of the Bravo or someone has change out the cylinders.

Another item I noticed is the bottom paint came up to the drive, this should not happen

Thanks for the quick response! So is there a kit available for an early bravo 2 setup? Would a clamp style anode on the trim cyl work? I was going to see if the alpha one screw on type anodes fit the gimble housing.
Next season when it’s time to sand and paint the bottom again I’ll definetly leave that 1” space. A quick search showed my error. I’m learning more about boat set up every day ! Thanks again!

Kits that are made upby vendors are made for a large amount of configurations. The early only uses one, and later use more. The vendor will sell kits for the early and the afterwards in one kits so they don't need to sell for others. The seller gets the same profit, so no issue with them, and the early just spend more then they need to

Having more or less anodes depends on many things. To determine if you actually need cylinder anodes is with a probe. The good thing is the B2 normally has a aluminum prop and not stainless. If it had a stainless prop, more anodes would be needed.

A probe is needed to measure the current between the water and the ground side of the battery. The voltage should measure

Fresh Water Areas -
620 - 1180 Millivolts with Digital Meter
Salt, Polluted or Mineral Laden Water Areas:
750 - 1180 Millivolts with Digital Meter
