Bravo 2 drive

I have a 1998 Rinker 266 Fiesta Vee with a 5.7 Mercrusier. One of the previous owners changed the outdrive to an outdrive labeled as as "Diesel".
Can anyone tell me if there is a differance in the gear ratio between the 2 drives...
