Hi!

I am doing major service on my boat. The Swivel shaft (cover plate method), bellows, bearing and so on. I have all the tools needed but i have one thing that confuses me. The aluminum sleeve holding the bellow into place in the bellow housing. I cant remember how far in it was seated and i cant find any reference that explains it.

Are there a rule of thumb doing it? Will the sleeve get pushed on, if not seated at correct position when the drive are being installed?
It looks good now, maybe i am worrying to much.

Thanxs in advance.

Regards,
Magnus

The sleeve should slide over the boot end and be flush with it. If the boot is positioned as shown in the pic below, the sleeve should side on with soap.

I never lubricated mine. I will check if it flush first before doing anything else.
Thanxs!
