I have 2000 BIII that has two grease fitting on the engine coupler. I have a larger grease gun with 14oz tube of spline grease. How many pumps of the grease gun per fitting?

Fitings go to the same place there are just two to make it easier to get to depending on what position the shaft is in. As for how much I will wait for someone like Don S to chime in. I think its a few pumps once a year.

you rteally should be pulling the drive to check the bellows and grease the U joints.

you really should be pulling the drive to check the bellows and grease the U joints.

Maybe to help clarify his question or put another way:
If he is pulling the drive 1 a year and greasing the splines that way, how often and how much should it be done until the next season?
Or are you saying that if the drive is pulled and greased that way it is enough?

A handfull of grease to cover all the splines is more than enough for a season.

3 pumps should be enough. You don't want to fill your bellows with grease :)

the zircs the op refers to are on the coupler itself, there is no way any of the grease they pump there would make it into the bellows

to op - you really should be greasing the coupler via the aft, i.e. - pulling the drive every season and using a long screwdriver with about 1 fl oz of spline grease on the end

this way you can ensure the splines are fully and evenly coated - along with doing other recommended seasonal drive/transom assy maintenance
