Please see attched image of some pitting on one of my drives. What is the best way to fix? Because the damage is so deep I was thinking of using J B Weld to fill in the damage, sand it down and repaint. Is that a good way of fixing this damage?

Re: Bravo One Drive

The pitting is not too bad at all. I have used epoxy with adhesive filler to smooth out pits, etc. from corrosion on my Bravo drives in the past. I have not used JB Weld for underwater applications, so maybe you should read all the fine print related to the product just to be sure.

You situation looks fairly minor . . . you could just prep and paint. Filling and smoothing before painting at your option.

Make sure your ventilation plate anodes (and other anodes) are good and fresh each year and it should not re-appear.

Prep and paint .. filling and fairing .. What would your suggestion be then ?
