I would like to repaint both my drives. What do you suggest on a good quality spray paint that comes in a spray can. Should I just stay with what Mercruiser sells at a steep price or is there another spray paint such as Krylon that does just as well?
Thanks

+1 ^^^. Sometimes I even use the cheap stuff that is about $2 per can.

also, use a good primer for outdrives as needed.

been covered MANY times on here.

I will say the same thing I ALWAYS say, repaint as LITTLE of thedrive as you ABSOLUTELY have to. You are NEVER going to get paint to stick like Mercruiser did, I don't care what anyone else says, or how much they spend. So if you have a paint chip on your skeg, just touch it up. Stripping and repainting the whole drive is a mistake.

That seems like good advice. I will just touch up the areas needing touch up.
Thanks

Mercruiser phantom black. Any dealer has it for less then $10 per can. I use it to touch up customers drives all the time as a bonus to the customer after I polish their boat. Scuff the area to be touched up with 400 grit and spray. Never had a problem with it coming off. I even paint aluminum props with it and it sticks. Never primed any of it and color match is always perfect
