Bravo one water tube clogged.

I have a 1984 Se Ray with a 454 bravo one outdrive. I'm not having enough water coming in from the outdrive. I was told it could be salt or even barnicles in outdrive water tube due to the fact that this boat sat in salt water & had barnicles everywhere. I removed all exterior barnicles & water pick up holes seem clean but when I connect a garden hose & flush backwards I get back pressure. I was told to look inside where the sea water hose connects to the transom by removing the hose & looking inside with a bore scope for build up. The question I have is; do I have to remove the engine to clean up the or to remove the plastic hose connection in transom. Can't this be corrected by removing the lower section of the outdrive or even removing the outdrive completely. I was told that the engine had to be removed to do this transom maintenance, please give ideas.

Re: Bravo one water tube clogged.

Any thoughts on thru hull water pick ups? The outdrive is clogged with salt & it will be very costly, maine tech suggested to block off that pick up through the transom & to install a separate water pick up through the hull to supply water to the engine.
