The basic o-ring kit I get from west marine seems to have more o-rings than needed to do a normal R&R for my bravo 1. Just wondering what all the other o-rings are used for.

I'm assuming since the kit is for all bravo drives, the excess o-rings would be for the bravo 2 & 3??

For my bravo1 I used .....
1 for oil connection from remote tank
1 for shift cable opening
the 1 big rectangular shaped one on the water inlet
and 2 on the shaft in the grooves

Theres one real fat one that im assumimng does not go on my drive??
Also 2 real small o-rings left over.

Just want to make sure im using the correct ones in the correct places. Unfortunately the manual or package instructions doesnt give that info.

Just went thru same thing. I bought the Sierra "O-ring kit". If you split the upper from the lower sections, the little "squared off one" is for the oil transfer hole between the upper and lower sections, on stbd side of drive. The big fat one is for the hub on the input shaft of the lower section. I still have a couple left over, as a universal kit and they are for more than one drive model. BUT 1/3 the price of OEM specific model kits.

Re: Bravo1 o-ring kit question

Thanks for the reply. I think i put the fat one on the shaft last season and might be why it was so hard to get the drive on last season.

I think i have it right this year.
