I just had new pistons and rings put in and was wondering if there is some kind of break in procedure I need to go through ? The mechanic that did the work did not mention anything. Any ideas?

Stop!

Before you do anything find out from him what he has done already (run time, timing settings, oil mix etc) and what he wants done for the next few hours. Write down what he says -- better yet have him write it down -- and follow it exactly.

I can tell you what I would do but I am not going to warranty the rebuild.

The number 1 thing is to find out why it had to be rebuilt and correct the CAUSE of that.

Big Ditto on Dhadley's statement. I can tell you to double the oil mix for the first 10 hours is standard. But beyond that, I'm gonna leave it up to the Mech. to advise you, just as was suggested. And always remember, a blown engine happens by a cause. What you had happen was the effect of the cause, as was said. Make REAL sure he rebuilt the Carbs before you run that motor...
