I just rebuilt my 1984 235 hp johnson outboard and it fired up on the first turn of the key sounds great too. I mixed the fuel at 3ozs per gallon but need to know if that is right. I have heard from 3oz to 4oz per gallon of gas but dont know how many gallons for the breakin period are needed before I go back to the 50 to 1 mix.

Re: breakin fuel mix

50:1 is 2.56 ounces of oil/US gallon of gasoline (128/50). Double that for breakin period.

Don't forget to re-torque your cylinder head bolts.
