Ron, only thing I find is this.
_____________________________________
Card came to Bush recently and suggested that he should step down from the job that he has held from the first day of Bush’s presidency.
_____________________________________
Me thinks it might have something to do with the rumors about shaking up the Government staff, but don't know.
They were talking about new blood/staff members with fresh ideas.
Budget Director, Josh Bolten will take over as Chief of Staff.

Five and a half years of 24/7/365 mind grinding hell. Why wouldn't anyone resign?

The average time for administration staffers is about 2 and a half years.

"How bad can it get?" Ummmm Jimmy Carter comes to mind.

Honestly, and I do not mean this as a troll, I wonder if the fact that everyone in the Bush admin has constantly been hounded by media, people from the left/Dems, etc. Now, I didn't really start following politics until ~'97, but it seems that just in recent years the evil and hate being spewed is just relentless. It's all done without any regard for who it is affecting both personally and professionally.

And I'm willing to be these people think... It's just not worth it.

Sean

To spend more time with his family?

For health reasons?

or the most popular
To pursue other interests.

Actually, there's been rumor of late that there may be some changes in the administration, but no hint as to what that might be.

EE- that's not a troll- it's reality. This Admin has been continually hounded by a left-leaning media ever since Bush "stole" the election in 2000. They've never been able to get over that loss, despite all the facts that go against them. Bush has been in the media's line of fire since he took office and it has taken its toll on him and his staff. It's amazing to me that he's still as upbeat and optimistic as he is. I would have told everyone to go take a walk long ago. I think that the outright hatred has never ever been at this level before and we are worse off for it. It's in vogue to be a self-hating American I guess. Once again, I'm out of style.

UFM82

I love it.

It's the fault of a vast "left wing conspiracy"

Now if we could just get Laura Bush to announce that on the "Today" show, it would dang near be perfect!!!

How many times did Clinton shake up his staff? I believe the first time was in Jan of 1994 when he replaced chief of staff Mack Mclarty with Leon Panetta and David Gergen going to the state Dept.
Bush should have shaken this bunch up long ago. As for as him being hounded by the press, people from the left etc.well he hasn’t had nearly the harassment as Bill Clinton. I can hear the chorus now Clinton was an adulterer, yes he was and he lied to us, but it never got us into a war with his lies.
lets never forget this little tidbit
.
The Outstanding Public Debt as of 28 Mar 2006 at 08:14:09 PM GMT is:
$ 8 , 3 6 8 , 2 9 4 , 6 2 1 , 6 0 2 . 1 9

As for the animosity that exist my It is my belief that it all started with the proliferation of the right wing talk radio shows.

How can anyone believe that the major news networks can be favoring the left? They are all large stockholder owned corporations. I don’t believe that stockholders would stand still if the there employees were doing something that was against their interest, let alone cost them profits.
