AP Washington Bureau
>Staff Writer Bill Schidt

>The White House announced the resignation of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld today in the wee hours of the morning in a hastily organized press gathering. Apparently bowing to pressure from fellow Republicans, Rumsfeld said "It's time for new blood and new ideas." When asked if he had been asked by the president to resign, Rumsfeld simply answered "No." President Bush has scheduled a press conference for 9am EST Saturday to officially announce the move and possibly name a successor.

>This is the lastest move in in the shake-up of Bush Administration personnel following the resignation of White house Chief of Staff Andy Card earlier this week. Vice Predient **** Cheney's Chief of Staff Scooter Libbey resigned last year in the wake of investigations into the outing of CIA employee Valerie Plame.

>There is wide speculation as to who will succeed Rumsfeld including Senators Bill Frist and Lindsay Graham. Neither could be reached for comment.

>Asked if Carl Rove and VP **** Cheney were next to go, Bush administration spokesman Scott McClellan confided, "That may be up to the grand jury. I have no word regarding their future status which I think we can all agree is pretty solid."

>McClellan said of Rumsfeld, "We're losing a good man and his service is greatly appreciated." Asked what comes next Rumsfled said, "I'm just gonna sit back for awhile and play a little golf. After that, who knows?"

>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>
>

:p April Fool! :p

wheeew
almost scared me.
we need Donald and his incredible tactical and strategic planning, just like Iraq, for the upcoming Iranian invasion.
just think how fubar the Iraq thing would have been without Donalds personal oversight and input of the invasion planning. bet mission accomplished would still be waiting.

You got me there, all I said to my self is Oh my gosh something very bad is happening that Homeland security is not telling us. I still know something is up. near our town is a military compound after 911 they had barcades up. they came down except for sand bags about a couple of months ago they put up cement blocks and a guard station up. I would like to be more informed than just duct tape and plastic. I would like to know what the enemy is saying and have plan A, B, C and a back up D that is just me I like to over prepare for the worst and pray for the Best
serenity
