<< Speaking to reporters, and referring to the debate over the war in Iraq, Gates said he envisioned "a confirmation process that would not be in the best interest of the country" were he to renominate Marine Gen. Peter Pace as chairman of the and Adm. Ed Giambiastiani as vice chairman. Gates told reporters he had recommended that Adm. Mike Mullen, currently chief of naval operations, replace Pace.>>

OK your fired Haut :D;)
I thought he was talking about Murtha. No wait, Murtha is a traitor, but he isn't a dummy.
Maybee he means Bob (Sheets) Byrd ? He is getting a tad senile.

So tree you think Iran is about to lose infrastructure, their Navy, Airforce, oil pumping capabilitys, goverment buildings and a Presidential palace or two??

I wonder if the Moab has been used in theater yet and if Iran's nuke store is fortified enough.

Think I'll do a search and find out what the prefered method of delivery is, B1 or Tomahawk... I'm curious....Adm. Mullen too.

Yes skinny it sure looks that way to me. As for Pace leaving, it kinda looks like he is fed up with this incompetent chicken hawk administration. Who would want the job as joint chief, after the President hired a ?war czar.? He sure had his problems finding a big enough fool to take that job.

Five General grades refused it, three of them four stars. He finally ended up with ?Army Lt. Gen. Douglas E. Lute? and he has privately expressed skepticism about sending more troops to Iraq during last winter's strategy review. Who can blame General Pace; a forty-year much decorated veteran from retiring from this circus run by a band of fools.

It seems plain to me that Mullen is being brought forward, to clean house for Gates and consolidate his position at Defense by sweeping out all the old Rummy hangovers. That pissed Cheney off, he was always the closest to Rummy in White house circles, as the two of them headed the neocon cabal.

Yes skinny I do believe your suspicions are correct, if you referring to an abundance of navel power in the gulf. Sure know how too level a city/government with the push of a button, what happens next is what has these fools stumped. Sadly the only way that I can figure it out is with a massive movement of troops on the ground, that can only be done with a draft. Year and a half till elections. Hello mister rock, hello mister hard place.

War with Iran may or may not be a good idea, if it so happens that we do take military action against Iran, we had better prepared to remain in Iraq for the next twenty years, whom ever becomes the next president, let's hope that he or she is capable of making the tough calls as needed.

Regardless of what side of the political isle tickles your fancy, no one can deny that George W. Bush does not possess the ability to excercise the options that are available to him, even at times when they may be unpopular within his own party.

We can probably accomplish our goals in Iran with the Navy alone.
We probably have covert operatives already there to assist in identifying targets.

Irans response would be to go on the offensive in Iraq where there is a fortified US force.
AND we now have the benefit of being battle hardened.

Read where the Moab is an above surface masterblaster and is delivered with a simple C130. It has been reported that it is in theater.
It replaces the daisy cutter used in Vietnam.
So bunker busters on Iran's nuke store and the Moab on all the cannon fodder crossing the Iraqi border.... home by Christmas??
