4.3l mercruiser TKS. What is listed in my parts manual as "ELBOW, 90 Degree, Breather (starboard)"
and "GROMMET, Breather Elbow" continuously weep oil. It's not much, no drop registering on the dipstick, but it does tend to get messy. Is this something that just happens, or will replacing it stop the problem?
(This is located on the starboard rocker cover, opposite the PCV valve on the port rocker cover, which does not leak anything.) The elbow and grommet do seem to be loose, as I can pull off and
re-seat the elbow easily.

the grommets are rubber and can get brittle and crack which leads to more leakage... if the vent comes out pretty easily, you can try replacing the grommet which might help a little, but again, they do tend to have oil around them.

part of maintenance is cleaning the bilge and all its contents. a light oil film is normal.
