Briggs & Stratton 5HP outboard

I am thinking about getting one. Can someone give me there 2 cents about this motor. Why should I pay 2 time more for a Johnson.<br />Thank you for all input....Wyatt :cool:

Wyatto, go to the "Outboard Non-Repair" forum and Search for Briggs and Stratton. That will answer all your questions.

They are air cooled if that matters at all. I know in Arizona air cooled isn't a very good choice.

and they aren't recommended for salt water use, if that makes a diference...just a thought :)

And they are noisy for a 4 stroke. They also have many little plastic exposed moving parts on the engine. However, I'm sure the engine is fine for light use.
