Have a 2001 bass boat, and the top of the boat that gets the most sun has lost its shine.
Anyone have some ideas on how to restore the shine, some areas have heavy metal flake in the paint. What are some good brands of componds and wax?

Re: Bring back the shine?

After some searching I found some great ideas to help me. Although I am concerned about the metal flake, will using a rubbing compond damage it?

Use oxidation remover. It is milder than rubbing compound.

Several good brands in the Mall.

There should be clear gel coat over the flake, if you buff or sand through the clear and into the flake, it will be difficult to repair. Be careful when buffing or sanding on flake.
