Is it possible to repair this? I don't think I could weld this type of metal so what other options do I have?

Re: Broken bracket

I believe that probably could be welded by someone who knows how to weld alum. If not I noticed a bracket with a screw hoe just below. Is it possible to run a brace up to this and mount it thru the brace.

Aluminum is weldable by anyone with the proper equipment and experience. Needless to say, you will have to remove the part first.

Re: Broken bracket

Guy, Generally the transom brackets are forged aluminum. A good welder should be consulted to see if he can fix it, but since it is forged, it should have a better chance.

Re: Broken bracket

Thanks for the great ideas. I did not realize this was aluminum.
