I have a broken cowl support bracket and don't know how to fix it. I would just weld it but it apears to be aluminum. Its the rear one that is over the spark plugs. The part is obsolete so I can't buy a new one. Anyone have any ideas besides ebay. Thanks.

Re: broken cowl support bracket

You might mention the year and HP of that Merc. Most of those are pretty universal. Salvage yards will have a ton of them.

Where are you located?

Weld it or find a used one as it was used on 1982 -1989 40,45,50 hp engines(4 cylinders)

Its a 89 merc 50hp. I guess a salvage yard might be my best bet. I can't weld aluminum myself so I'd have to take it some where. Anyone know if theres a salvage yard in las vegas.

Re: broken cowl support bracket

I found one on ebay pretty easy. Didn't realize how many motors use the same bracket. Thanks for the help.
