Broken Fin on Force lower end

I had a slight mishap with my 1995 70hp Force, I was changing the impeller, and used a piece of wood and hammer to split the lower halves apart. The piece I broke off is the small short fin, just above the main lower fin on the lower end. My question is, will this affect the motors operation/performance at all???? And is there anyway to repair it....It looks like it is alluminum, or something else. Any ideas or advise would be welcomed, I am very worried I messed this thing up. Thanks in advance....Heynow

Re: Broken Fin on Force lower end

I broke the main fin off my 85hp Chrysler in a trailering mishap. I could not tell any difference in performance. I did have it replaced to at least protect what was left of my prop. Look in the yellow pages under welding, any good welding shop can fix it.

Hi,<br />i did the same thing to my skeg and the welders wanted more than 100 bucks to weld it back on so i just went to overtons.com and bought a sheg protection to replace the piece that broke and she ran fine ever since.
