Broken Hatch Actuator.. Options?

Hello,

I have a 1986 Formula and the hatch actuator is broken - the motor no longer works, probably because of its age. However the rest of the assembly moves freely. I've looked at replacements and they go for about 250, and I can't justify spending that much $ on an actuator. Is it possible to replace just the motor? I assume it would have to be ignition protected so is there a place I could look to get one of these motors? Not sure who makes the actuator.. thanks in advance

There are shops that rebuild electric motors. It might be worth a shot.

If rebuilding the motor doesn't work.

That company makes them a little cheaper, I've had a pair in my boat for 6 years now and they've been great.

Look online. I found one half the price for my Luhrs.
