I was installing the transducer of my old Humming bird wide eye and when pushing it through the hull some how I broke one of the pins in the molded plug that plugs into the fish finder. Any advise or should I just get a new fish finder? Can you buy just transducers that will work from Humming bird?

If I get a new fish finder any advice on what model or what brand?

Thanks

It sounds like you're going to have to replace the transducer and its harness.

Re: Broken Pin on Transducer

Ok not sure it is worth a new transducer on my depthfinder or not? It close to 10 years old and its a Wide one Hundred. The one i am looking at is the Humminbird 365i . It has built in GPS I have a hand held one I use now. It gives me speed and cordinates but it doesnt have the detail this unit has.

Does anyone have any experience with the Humminbird 365i?

I have the same fish finder and the wire had pulled out of the transducer. I found replacement transducers for around fifty bucks. IMO it is not worth paying 50 bucks for antiquated equipment. I would rather put that towards a new fish finder so I'm holding out.

I like the humminbird 500 series. They have gotten a lot of good reviews and I tried one at the local shop. They seem easy to use and very straightforward.

Outside of finding a used or old stock transdicer, a new onw will require a cable converter ($25) plus the cost of a new transducer. Probably not worth it.

If you purchased the HB you mentioned, or many others, you could reuse that tilt/swivel bracket, power cable, and a new ($7) connector block to have a 2nd station. You would still need a transducer, or it could be used for gps only.

I am looking for a new connector on the end of the transducer cable if anyone has an old one they are going to get rid of? I just need a new end connector and I am going to splice it to my old transducer thanks.
