Re: broken skeg
The main purpose of the skeg is to offer some protection for the prop from underwater objects, rocks, logs, etc., with yours gone, just be darn sure you don't hit anything and get a new skeg welded on as soon as possible. A welding shop should be able to fabricate a skeg from maybe 1/2" aluminum plate and weld it on, file it and grind it to shape, some touch-up paint and you'll be ready to go. Maybe your local marina or boat dealer can recommend who they use for this type of repair so you'll get someone with outboard motor experience. Good Luck!
