Re: broken transducer cable

It's probably coaxial cable. I think I saw a coax cable repair thing at Radio Shack (real mickey mouse item)

It is possible that you did some internal damage to the unit as well. Best borrow a cable before you buy one just to find out.....Sometimes the cable is a sizeable investment, warranting a new unit.......

Re: broken transducer cable

it is coaxial cable, kinda like the cable wire inside your house. but the differance is, not only is there a wire in the center. but one that runs up along side the other. the one in the center is coated with plastic. the one on the side is touching this silver coating. after splicing them together i get some really weird structure and you would'nt believe it but the lake is full of fish. there everywhere.

Sonar cable is a exact length and can not be shortened or it will not give you the correct depth. I would think it could be patched rather easily though. Bcmagna

Re: broken transducer cable

Get yourself a Philmore inline splice. where people who repar electronic equipment buy their parts. No special tools needed and cable length won't be changed enough to make any difference.
