Broken transom plate replacement question

Hi, this is my first post, I am glad there is a forum with so much knowledge and activity thank you.

I have a 73 mercruiser 140 that the gimble housing and transom plate have been swapped with a 165 before I bought it. I am getting ready for a full restoration, when pulling all of the stuff off the transom saw that the bottom of the plate where the mounting nuts are was broken off laying in the bilge.

The casting number on the transom plate is 65550 which when I look for a new plate I keep getting part number 65550a2 with a casting number of 79990. I noticed some of them where the bottom nuts mount are go straight across and others it goes down at an angle then across (which is how mine is). Are these interchangeable? If not does anyone know the correct part number I have looked up parts diagrams which keep giving me the same results

I just found a transom plate on ebay that looks identical the only difference is the casting number. Again mine says 65550 and the one I found has 79000. The part number for the one I found is 65550a2. Can anyone tell me if this is the correct transom plate I would hate to order it and have to return or eat the cost of a part I cannot use. Thank you again.
