BS Surging

My mower motor (5hp Briggs) is surging, especially under load. The surging seems to diminish as the mower warms up.
Earlier this spring the carb was cleaned and rebuilt (new needle, seat, and fuel pump diaphram). The mower did not surge before this. Carb was cleaned because of my laziness in not winterizing the mower. After the carb was cleaned, I ran some Seafoam through it, and replaced the plug. Adjusting the mixture screw doesn't seem to have an impact on the surging, and the governor linkage feels free and smooth, with no binding.
Thanks.

Re: BS Surging

Thanks PierBridge. I cleaned the air filter at the beginning of the season, but do plan on doing it again soon. Actually it is about time for a replacement filter anyways.

Re: BS Surging

I know it was already replaced but my BS motor was doing the same thing, spent $5.00 and replaced the diaphram.....Make sure all surfaces are clean and not warped or bent out of shape....20 minutes later, fix my problem right up.

When it was replaced the first time, maybe the diaphram didnt sit right or moved slightly before tightening the bolts.
