Tragically died of lung cancer despite never smoking, but what a ride! I've never been an Opera fan. But I've always been a big fan of that classy broad, and she would've been tickled being called that. She knocked the genre down to Earth for us common folk to appreciate, and gave Opera a voice above the upper crust. More than any one individual, she put The Met on the map. Here's a bit of her professional farewell. Rest in Glorious Aria Beverly Sills. Brava!
