Someone care to explain how to tell when to add geese to a buddy bearing? The instructions on the bra about pushing someone and if it rocks don't add or not, add. What is it I am suppose to be pushing and how hard? Pictures would be nice. (Modified ones with an arrow pointing to important things) No rush, just have an 8 hour drive with the boat planned early next summer and want nothing to go wrong.

on the inside of bearing buddy you will see a spring that ends at the plate with the grease fitting...when adding grease the first time you want to add until you see this plate move about 1/8 inch. you push that plate , if it rocks your good if it sits solid you need to add until you see it move 1/8". When you first add grease to a hub, you will have to add some daily, as trapped air escapes allowing more grease, once it no longer sits firm and will rock you are good...check it occasionally and add as needed.

Just a heads up... Be careful adding grease to a bearing buddy, it's going to give you a false sense of preventive maintenance. Adding grease to the bearing buddy is not packing the bearings with grease! It's only pressurizing the cavity to keep water out. Maybe unless you have the inner hub cavity 100% packed with grease... which i doubt. Anywho, to feel confident about the bearing grease, you need to pull the hubs, clean bearings, inspect, and repack. Or buy a new prepacked hub and just remove and replace.
