Hey all,

Just recently picked up an '86 Bass Tracker and the head unit was dead on it. The previous owner said he thought it got some water on it or something. It's installed in the side of my console unit and I tested the power/ground on the back of the headunit and got 12v with my multimeter so I'm pretty certain the headunit is bad. It's a cheap Pyle and has 2 6.5" Pyle speakers as well.

I'm budgeting approximately $200 to replace the headunit and 2 speakers.I assume I want marine rated components, mainly the speakers.

What are your thoughts on these?

you can get pyle units and speakers for a total of $100 and up. I have had good luck with Clarion myself.

I've been out of stereo stuff too long to recommend anything, but get a cover for it so water doesn't have a change to get inside. (FWIW, what you picked looks decent to me.)
