OK today I started to buff out my 1992 searay 23 ft I bought Maguires diamond cut it did a great job but it looks like I have to do it a couple of more times or is there something better that I could use I did one side and three hours today it seems to be nice but when you look down the side you still see spots but the shyness there any other side is Chaulkie Do you use a buffer with a sheepskin on it is there something that’s better to use in using now any hints would be very appreciated

Advertising says Diamond Cut is for paints, not gelcoat.

Lots of compounds on the market specifically formulated for gel coat.

Marina here uses that for gel coat. I used it on my boat to. Wet sand it first. No matter what you use it will be the same thing. Got to prep it get the oxidation off first.

Agree on the wet sand. You can use a DA polisher and get 2000 grit sanding discs for wet sanding. It'll sure make it go faster than by hand.

wet sand at 220 grit, 400 grit, 600 grit, then 800 grit

then use aquabuff 2000 clean or change the pad often

then use 3M finesse it.

then buff in some wax

Well the other side of the Boat I wet sanded with 2000 grit buffed it out and waxed it became a flawless the other side of the boat where I just buffed it out did not wet sand it now I have to wet sand that side the top half for the rub rail up I tried to send it buffet but I don’t think there’s no saving that it’s clean but very very little shine to it
