Building engine mounts

Afternoon,

My prior IB/OD setup was cantilevered on the transom so the engine bay lacks engine mounts.

Any ideas of what sort of engine mounts would be suitable for installing a 3.7L Mercruiser Motor in this boat?

1974 Starcraft Chieftain 20ft. See pictures of the area I'm talking about.

I'm thinking of sizing up 2x "4x4" supports to mount the motor. Is this a fools errand?

For inline engines it is typically ply or lumber fitted to the bottom of the hull to build a flat pad. I am assuming you mean the 3.7l inline 4 mercruiser?

This is pretty typical of most I've come across and this is my own personal boat if gutted... you can see the inline mount in the bottom of the photo ahead of the V6 mounts I built.

Something like you have pictured in the front there is the right idea I'd think.
