Building your own Media Computer...

I asked about this a little over a month ago and have great success in putting everything together for a killer media center. The system works great with one exception, I assembled it in an old standard desktop case that I had and of course with all of the processing power going on with recording TV it overheats and losses its TV signal until it cools down again.

My question is, if you have a media center computer or have built your own as I have, what type of case with good cooling are you using? Some people call these HTPC computers. Just looking for a few ideas before I spend the money on a new case.

There should be mounting for a couple of extra fans in a standard case. If that doesn't keep it cool, something is wrong with the CPU cooler(s). (main and video)

Lead dress, especially with flat ide and floppy cables, can interfere with cooling in a big way.

And don't enclose the case in your entertainment center or something like that.

MT - Make sure you got all the impeller pieces out of the cooling sys..... never mind wrong cooling prob.

Seriously, check out this site - Overclockers.com. A lot info and if you do need a new case, plenty of reviews. Sorta geeky, but we never get that way here. LOL And just Googling "computer cooling" gives you tons of links. I never buy "built" computers, always build my own. Just like a boat project, never finished.
